Dr. Said Hamed Said Al Rubaii earned his Bachelor of Education degree in 1990 and his Master of Arts in Education in 1995. In 2002 he obtained his PhD in Education Technology from the University of Manchester. Dr. Said rose through the academic and professional echelons serving in various academic and administrative positions at the Sohar College of Education, as a Dean of Rustaq College and as a Head of a number of offices at the Ministry of Higher Education including Director General of Private Universities and Colleges, Director General of Colleges of Applied Sciences, and Academic Advisor to the Minister. Dr. Said is a member of number of senior committees, most notably he is the Chair of Human and Society Committee for Oman Vision 2040 and Deputy Chair of National Training Fund. He is also a member of Board of Directions and advisory boards in a number of institutions.
Aqeed Dr. Mohammed Al Siyabi (Military Technological College)
Aqeed (Colonel) Dr Mohamed Al Siyabi is Military Engineering Officer, an Academic and Researcher with a PhD qualification in 2012 in Communication Engineering from Surrey University in the UK. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), with more than 22 years of engineering experience in various RAFO stations and RAFO Technical College. Dr Mohamed is a Fellow in RAeS and member in many Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs). He also holds BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from SQU and two MSc, in Communication Engineering from University of Portsmouth and MSc in Military Studies from Bahrain Officers Staff College. Aqeed Mohamed has rich managerial career experience and disciplined military background. Currently, Dr Al Siyabi is the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs in Military Technological College (MTC).
Eng. Ali Abdul Redha Al Lawati (Petrogas)
Eng. Ali Abdul Redha Al Lawati has 23 years of experience in oil and gas industry. He is the Operation Excellence Manager at Petrogas e & p Oman with responsibility for of setting, aligning and enforcing processes and standards at Petrogas affiliates and businesses from corporate level. He is also the subject expert matter for engineering and surface facilities. Ali received his Degree in mechanical engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 1993 and his post graduate degree in mechanical engineering SQU (Solar) 2005.
Prior to joining Petrogas, Ali worked in as Operation manager, Engineering manager, head of concept at several companies, including Petroleum Development of Oman, Japex, Daleel. Ali is also a frequent speaker at MARCUS events and IQPC forums in the region.
Dr. Moammer Ali Saud Al Tubi (Caledonian College of Engineering, the National University)
Moammer ALTubi is an academic and researcher at the National University of Science and Technology, College of Engineering. He is currently serving as the deputy head of mechanical & industrial engineering department, and the chair of the industry advisory and practices committee. ALTubi completed his Ph.D. at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK in 2018 on the area of artificial intelligence applications on condition monitoring. His academic and research performance has been recognized with many awards like the outstanding performance certificate for the academic year 2017/18 from the Embassy of The Sultanate of Oman- London, and the best paper award at an international conference in Italy in 2017.
Dr. Omar Al Abri
The Research Council (TRC)
Omar Al Abri holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from SQU in 2016. Throughout the years of being in SQU, Omar has worked in many industry-funded research projects with a track record of achievements on local, regional an international levels before he joined The Research Council in late 2016 to lead a national project under the Institute for Advanced Technology Integration in collaboration with the Helmholtz Association of Germany. Over the short period of being in TRC, Omar has worked in various initiatives among which is Ejaad – a national initiative by TRC, PDO and MOG – that aims to foster industry-academia collaboration in R&D. Currently Omar is holding the position of Programs Department Director at the TRC with mandates centered around the support and funding of research and innovation at the country level. (TRC)
Dr. Ali Al Shidhani

Ali Al Shidhani is the Group VP of Technology at ASYAD Group. His mandate is to develop and steer technology and innovation strategy for ASYAD Group. Previously, he was the Director of Research Centers at the Research Council of Oman. Ali received his B.Eng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 2001, Masters of IT in Data Communications from Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2003 and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada in 2010. Ali is a member of several national ICT committees and has delivered numerous presentations in ICT in national and international conferences and forums.
